What is CBD oil?
Cannabidiol, or CBD for short, is a compound found in the flower and aerial parts of the Hemp plant. CBD oil is a natural remedy made by extracting CBD and other compounds (called cannabinoids) from the plant and combining them with carrier oils. New research is showing the tremendous healing potential of cannabinoids, CBD in particular.
How does CBD oil work?
Many people feel a meaningful impact to their physical and mental health from using CBD oil. But how does it work?
To understand the how, you’ll first need to understand the endocannabinoid system. Your body has an intelligent network of cell receptors, recently discovered as a master system, that helps you maintain homeostasis (balance). Homeostasis enables organisms to survive in continually changing environments. It affects everything from your physical health to your mood.
In order to activate the endocannabinoid system, your body needs endocannabinoids. Your body can produce some on its own. Often, however, those trace amounts aren't enough to keep your endocannabinoid system functioning properly. That’s where organic CBD oil can help.
The cannabinoids in CBD oil attach to the cell receptors in your endocannabinoid system and send them an activation signal. That in turn allows your endocannabinoid system to fulfill its function of promoting homeostasis throughout your body.
